Testing Plaster for Asbestos

We have some plaster on the walls of our home. We are concerned that it has asbestos. Can you test it for us?

Hi Rose,

We actually do not do the asbestos testing ourselves. It has become a conflict of interest for a company to test and do the asbestos abatement hence why we do not do the testing.
It goes the same for mold tests and air quality testing as well.
We do however, know the best environmentalist companies in the business and can give you recommendations for testing.
Give us a call and we can head you in the right direction!

Does asbestos always show up in older homes? I have recently bought a house that was built in the 1950s and I am afraid there may be asbestos in my home!

The correction is that asbestos 'was used' in wall plaster. What is becoming a big issue now is people are doing renovations of their older home and come across it. If your home was built between the late 1920's to late 1970's (or had renovations done during that time) than there is a possibility of the plaster containing asbestos. Always be safe first before doing any renovations and have things tested.
If you are doing renovations and the above the above era's apply to your property, give us a call and we can assist in arranging for asbestos testing.

Asbestos can be found in wall plaster? I didn't even know that was still being used, what with the popularity of drywall. I always just assumed that insulation was associated with asbestos. I guess i learned something new today, now I'm wondering if I'll need to test my home for asbestos. :s
